Symptom

The Export for Auditor workflow shows an error, the download link returns 404, or the ZIP file is missing some controls.

Common Causes & Fixes

Download Link Expired

Evidence package download links are valid for 7 days for security reasons.

Fix: Re-run the Export for Auditor workflow to generate a fresh package.

Missing Controls in Export

Some controls may not appear in the export if:

  • They have no evidence attached (no automation + no manual upload)
  • They were marked as "Not Applicable" and you didn't include N/A controls in the export settings
Fix:
  1. Before exporting, run a Coverage Check: Workflows → Export for Auditor → Check Coverage
  2. Look for controls with 0 evidence items
  3. Either attach manual evidence or exclude those controls and document the reason

Export Fails Immediately

This usually indicates a browser or system storage issue.

Fix:

  1. Check available disk space on your computer (exports can be 10–200MB)
  2. Check browser download settings:
- Ensure downloads aren't blocked for this site - Try clearing browser cache and retry
  1. Try a different browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended)
  2. Check system permissions: Some corporate security policies block large file downloads

ZIP File Corrupted on Download

Fix:

  • Try downloading via a different browser
  • Check your proxy/firewall isn't intercepting large file downloads
  • Contact support — we can regenerate and provide a direct link

Controls Sorted Incorrectly in Export

This is a known cosmetic issue in older exports. The data is correct but the PDF table of contents may be sorted differently than the framework order.

Fix: Use the JSON export option instead — it preserves the original framework ordering.
